Wendell H. McChord
I was born and raised in Maysville, Kentucky, living there
until I left for college in 1957.
It was a picturesque, historic, town
on the banks of the Ohio River and was a great place to have lived
during the 40s and 50s.
I went to Eastern Kentucky State College (now
Eastern Kentucky University) where I received a BS in Chemistry and
Biology in 1961.
I then went on to the University of Louisville, School
of Dentistry where I received a DMD degree in 1965 and met a beautiful
Lexington, Kentucky girl that same year.
I did a dental residency at
Florida State Hospital outside of Tallahassee in 1965 and 1966. I came
to the Dayton area in 1966 and went into practice with Dr. John H.
Boyles as an associate dentist. Also that year I married that beautiful
gal I had met at U of L. I remained at Smithville Road in practice
with Dr. Boyles until he retired in 1983. I moved my practice to Far
Hills in 1989.
I sold my practice to Dr. Brenda Palmer in October 2000
and have remained on with her practicing two days a week. I have enjoyed
my time off and continue to enjoy dentistry that has been a part of
my life since receiving my degree in 1965.
My wife
and I have been blessed with two wonderful kids and now have three
equally wonderful
grandchildren with another on the way.
We enjoy
traveling frequently returning to Florida’s Panhandle and Scotland.
My hobbies have been genealogy, photography, model railroading, and
reading.
My main interests in reading have been local history (Kentucky
and the Dayton area) and Bible studies. God has blessed me with so
very much over my life in so many different ways and I cherish my personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.
